Arcola School District #306 Board of Education met August 7.
Here is the minutes as provided by the board:
Present: Tom Mulligan, Superintendent; Board Members: Jim Crane, Chad Strader, Dr. Robert
Arrol, Sue Stout, Lucac Shonkwiler
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm. The finance committee first reviewed a budget
summary, which included projected ending financial position following the 2016-2017 school
year and also the overall projected budget for 2017-2018 school year. The committee then
reviewed the district budget by line item reviewing last year’s budget, last year’s activity, the
projected budget, and also notes on changes from one year to the next. The committee will
recommend approval of the tentative budget to the full board on Wednesday, August 9.
Dr. Mulligan then presented information on the evidence based funding formula that has been
passed by the legislature and then was amendatory vetoed by the governor.
The finance committee meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm.
