The City of Mattoon budget was $45.27 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $6,129.02 per household.

That's an increase of seven percent from 2014, when the city spent $42.30 million, or $5,726.60 per household.

Mattoon has 7,386 households and a population of 18,555.

Since 2001, the City of Mattoon budget has grown by 28.1 percent, from $35.33 million. The city population has grown 1.4 percent over the same period, from 18,291.
