Ogden ranked 461st in state in lottery ticket sales for February 2016

The Village of Ogden had the 461st highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of February 2016 -- down 195 spots from its January ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Ogden was $17.99 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the East Central Reporter, Ogden generated $14,501 in net sales from its one lottery retailer in February 2016, compared to $22,682 in February 2015.

The Village of Ogden is in Champaign County, and has a population of 806, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in February 2016 was $19,942.40.

Ogden's top lottery retailer is Village Pantry #07 located at 401 Market St, Ogden, IL 61859.

Village Pantry #07 generated 100 percent of Ogden's February 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Champaign County's sales that month, which was $2,233,549.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Champaign County in 2015 were Ogden, Gifford, Mahomet, Rantoul and Thomasboro.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
