Casey ranked 308th in state in lottery ticket sales for February 2016

The City of Casey had the 308th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of February 2016 -- up 50 spots from its January ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Casey was $23.17 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the East Central Reporter, Casey generated $62,761 in net sales from its four lottery retailers in February 2016, compared to $54,630.50 in February 2015.

The City of Casey is in Clark County, and has a population of 2,709, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in February 2016 was $16,228.25.

Casey's top lottery retailer is Circle K #1306 located at 504 N Central Ave, Casey, IL 62420.

Circle K #1306 generated 46 percent of Casey's February 2016 lottery ticket sales and 18 percent of Clark County's sales that month, which was $162,282.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top three cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Clark County in 2015 were Casey, Martinsville and Marshall.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
