The Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology is celebrating 50 years of success throughout the 2016-17 academic year, with several events on tap to recognize the milestone.

A reunion for current and former administrators, faculty and staff, as well as students, alumni and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the University Union Lamoine Room. A brief program will begin at 5 p.m. with light snacks and a cash bar available, as well as photos and memorabilia to view.

In 1965, the Board of Governors approved the creation of the Western Illinois University School of Business. The School officially opened its doors Sept. 1, 1966. Since that day, the school has grown, first evolving into the College of Business and then into the current College of Business and Technology.

Reservations are required, either online at wiu.edu/CBT/50th or by calling 309-298-2442.
