Members of the Arcola City Council met Monday, Aug. 1.
The Arcola City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month. Meetings are held at the Municipal Building, 114 N. Locust St.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ARCOLA CITY COUNCIL MEETING Monday, August 01, 2016
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Foran, Huckstep, Smith, Moore and Guyot. Alderwoman Key was not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Harvey and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Foran led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF JULY 18, 2016 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Foran moved to approve the July 18, 2016 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Moore. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF JULY 16 – JULY 29, 2016 BILLS Alderwoman Moore moved to approve the July 16 – July 29, 2016 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Guyot. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR JULY Alderwoman Moore moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for July and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE JULY ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 2 permits issued in July with valuation of $1,063,000 and $1,436 in fees collected. There was 1 variance requested with a fee of $45 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the July Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 16-C-3, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE ARCOLA MUNICIPAL CODE Alderman Guyot moved to approve Ordinance No. 16-C-3 and was seconded by Alderwoman Huckstep. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE GENERAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CLARK DIETZ Alderman Smith moved to approve General Services Agreement with Clark Dietz up to $4,000 and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Huckstep Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Moore Reported the Budget & Finance Committee
met prior to this meeting and discussed possibly participating in a County Enterprise Zone.
Alderman Guyot Reported the Police, Ordinance &
Enforcement Committee met prior to this meeting and discussed Ordinance 16-C-3.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Council approved unanimously by voice vote.
