Mattoon City Council discusses annual permit fees

The Mattoon City Council met at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19.

The Mattoon City Council consists of four members and the mayor, who acts as the city's CEO. Council meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 208 N. 19th St.

CONSENT AGENDA:

Items listed on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted by one motion. No separate discussion of these items will occur unless a Council Member requests the item to be removed from the Consent Agenda. If an item is removed from the Consent Agenda, it will be considered elsewhere on the agenda for this meeting. Prior to asking for a motion to approve the Consent Agenda, the Mayor will ask if anyone desires to remove an item from the Consent Agenda for public discussion.

PRESENTATIONS, PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

This portion of the City Council meeting is reserved for persons who desire to address the Council. The Illinois Open Meetings Act mandates that the City Council may NOT take action on comments received on matters that have not been identified on this agenda, but the Council may direct staff to address the topic or refer the matter for action on the agenda for another meeting. Persons addressing the Council are requested to limit their presentations to three minutes and to avoid repetitious comments. We would ask you to state your name for the record as well as stand when speaking.

1. Motion – Adopt Resolution No. 2016-2970: Authorizing a purchasing agreement for real estate property between the City of Mattoon and Willaredt Limited Partnership for the WWTP Satellite Treatment Facility piping project. (Cox)

2. Motion – Adopt Special Ordinance No. 2016-1629: Authorizing the purchase of real estate property from Willaredt Limited Partnership for the WWTP Satellite Treatment Facility – Riley Creek project. (Cox)

3. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2016-1703: Approving the Annual NPDES permit fee in the amount of $37,500 for the operation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. (Cox)

4. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2016-1704: Approving the appointment of Firefighter Dylan C. Johnson to regular employment status with successful completion of his probationary period effective July 17, 2016. (Hall)

5. Motion – Adopt Special Ordinance No. 2016-1630: Granting a special use for property located at 900 N. 33rd Street for the purpose of a daycare center. Amy Yoder - Petitioner (Cox)

6. Motion – Adopt Special Ordinance No. 2016-1631: Authorizing the purchase of real estate property located at 620 Richmond Avenue from Ramone and Kevin Hamilton for use by the City of Mattoon. (Cox)

7. Motion – Adopt Special Ordinance No. 2016-1632: Ratifying Years 3 and 4 of the collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME, AFL-CIO, Council 31, Local 3821. (Graven)
