Mattoon City Council reviews, adopts resolutions at recent meeting

The Mattoon City Council reviewed and adopted several resolutions at its March 15 meeting.

The Mattoon City Council discussed and adopted a number of resolutions at its meeting on March 15.

The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance. Soon after, minutes of the regular meeting on March 1 and the special budget meeting March 10 were approved. Bills and payroll for the first half of March were approved, as well.

   

A number of resolutions were adopted in the meeting. Resolution No. 2016-2956 gave notice to the Illinois Department of Transportation of the Fourth of July parade to be sponsored by the City of Mattoon. Resolution No. 2016-2957 gave notice to the Illinois Department of Transportation of the Bagelfest parade to be sponsored by the City of Mattoon. The city adopted resolutions to sponsor the Veterans Day parade and the Christmas parade.

A motion to approve the appointment of Alexander Hesse to regular employment status with the Mattoon Police Department after successful completion of his probationary period effective March 29. The council awarded the bid in the amount of $518,250 to Feutz Contractors for the Heritage Park Project.

The council approved the waiver of the formal bidding requirement and approved the proposal from Tensile Structure Systems in the amount of $96,000 to furnish and to install the pavilion for the Heritage Park Project.

    

The council awarded the bid of $20,190 to Anderson Electric for the Heritage Park Street Streetscaping Electrical Project.
