Potential technology upgrades may surface when Tom Blumenshine, representing Bloomington-based Entre Solutions II, makes a presentation before the Tuscola Board of Education at its 7 p.m. meeting Monday, March 21, at East Prairie Middle School.

Wifi may be the tip of the iceberg for the school system as board members listen to the company’s informational talk discussing the prospect of wireless internet connectivity for Tuscola schools. Entre Solutions II is a computer and electronics specialty business that has previously worked with school systems.

Additionally, Justin Bozarth and Brad Allen will present a vocational update regarding Parkland College.

Approval is anticipated for membership dues, registration fees, a proposed school year calendar and attendance guidelines. The board will also consider a recommendation to accept donations from the class of 1954 and the Tuscola Community Foundation.

Superintendent of Schools Michael Smith will offer a comprehensive report encompassing auxiliary services, registration and meetings, technology (including Chromebooks), state referendum results and special education, followed by principals’ reports.

The board will go into executive session for discussion of personnel and negotiation matters prior to hearing announcements regarding resignations, leaves of absence and hires.

Finally, Tuscola’s Board of Education will welcome new hires Jason Wallace as North Ward Elementary principal, Natasha Capell as life sciences/biology teacher and Brittany Hart as speech pathologist.

East Prairie Middle School is located at 409 S. Prairie St.
