Charleston's Carnegie Public Library recently reviewed a proposal to improve local Internet speeds.

The Internet service director of Charleston Carnegie Public Library recently shared a proposal from Consolidated for improved internet speeds and a new phone system.

It was discussed in a board meeting Feb. 1. The board expressed that they would like the local connection and unanimously gave the director approval to sign a contract with Consolidated for any rate less than $875 per month.

The fundraiser has been officially moved to Aug. 19. The fundraiser will be left on the agenda each meeting and the Internet Service director would put together a timeline of tasks. The meeting approved minutes of the Jan. 4 board meeting and the executive board meeting.

In addition, the director’s monthly and weekly reports were accepted, as were the Grant and Donation Report, the Program Report the IT Report and the Statistics Report. Financial reports were accepted, as well.
