Brad Halbrook, who is running for the 102nd District state House seat in the GOP primary, secured endorsements from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s Political Action Committee and Gov. Bruce Rauner.
“During Brad’s three years in Springfield, he demonstrated a commitment to improving Illinois’ business climate and making our state a destination for job creators,” Todd Maisch, president and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, said.
Maisch praised Halbrook’s career as a small-business owner and said Halbrook knows what it will take to improve the state’s economy.
“I am honored to have the support of the chamber,” Halbrook said. “I first ran for the legislature because I saw the damage Springfield politicians and their policies were doing to small businesses like my own. Creating jobs for Illinois families by reducing regulations, lowering taxes and reforming workers' compensation will be my number one priority. Our only hope out of our fiscal problems is to create more jobs and more taxpayers in our state.”
Halbrook also received an official endorsement from Rauner.
“As a small-businessman and farmer, Brad has the experience Illinois needs in Springfield," Rauner said. "During his previous service in the General Assembly, Brad established a strong conservative record by advocating for much-needed reforms, economic growth and lower taxes. We need leaders like Brad Halbrook who will bring real-world business experience to the General Assembly. Career politicians and the special interests have stifled business for too long."
Halbrook supports the governor’s business reforms, including property tax reform and workers' compensation reform.
