The Tolono, Illinois Village Council will meet 6:30 this evening at 507 W Strong St. for its regular board meeting to discuss engineering and zoning, approve vehicle purchases, and select an audit vendor.

Foremost on the agenda will be an engineering report to review drainage issues and to consider a quote for improvements at 205 N. Elizabeth St. introduced at a previous meeting. The zoning administrator and/or building official will also comment on plans for a new police station in Tolono.

Additionally, the council will review municipal matters including Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) regulations concerning speed limits as they relate to the Village’s speed limits. Findings from observations of an intersection at Galloway Street and Austin Street will be presented.

After approving vendors for cleaning services and drainage work as discussed, the council will consider purchasing a used truck and snowplow from the Village of Savoy for $25,000. Finally, council members will give a final look-over to a letter of engagement in preparation for the firm of Martin, Hood, Friese and Associates to conduct an audit for the Fiscal Year ending April 30, 2016.

The council’s next two meetings are scheduled for March 15 and April 5.
