Marshall Public Library covers window repair, budget updates at meeting
Convening on Feb. 10, the Marshall Public Library board of trustees heard reports, voted on action items and broached new business during its regular meeting in the library at 612 Archer Ave.
Key action items consisted of discussion on a special reserve fund ordinance, including a discussion of the fund plan and bids for the job of replacing the building’s windows.
A special finance committee meeting will be set with members Janet Hasten, Kent Hall and Vickie Wallace. Additionally, it was noted that the director’s annual evaluation is due to be submitted to Hasten.
Bill presentation, correspondence review and approval of the Jan. 13 meeting minutes followed, with the Friends of the Library noting that its next meeting will be at 5 p.m. on March 3. Reports were heard from the librarian and director prior to adjournment.
The Marshall Public Library board of trustees consists of citizens appointed by the mayor. Each serves a three-year term. Current board officers and members are John Tarble, president; Janet Hasten, vice president; Melissa Strait, secretary; and members Kent Hall, Carol Halloran, Mike Cameron, Dudley Crow, Shannon Powless and Vickie Wallace.
The board meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library. The meetings are open to the public, with time allotted for public comment. The next meeting is slated for March 9.
